It’s really too bad that even companies like Sony have stopped giving true power ratings on audio equipment. The power rating they are quoting was probably an instantaneous peak output for a fraction of a second. At one time, the agreed standard for power rating of audio amplifiers was continuous RMS power with all channels driven, from 20Hz to 20KHz. Using that standard, and looking at the photos of the product, the true audio output of this little amp is probably about 30 watts per channel.
