This thing looks like a sci-fi toaster oven to me.

Check out some Reviews

Specs claim 420 watts output, but only use 75 watts in operation?

I guess its pulling 6 amps @ 75 watts/amp?

Time to check out the product page and pretty good reviews (4.6 out of 5.0) over at bestbuy.com and good reviews (4.3 out of 5.0) over at walmart.com

Wait a minute . . . this is supposed to be a boombox to take out to the neighborhood court, but has to be plugged into a wall outlet to work? I’d like to meet the engineer who thought up that one . . .

It uses batteries…but the thing weighs 31lbs!

Can you plug this in to a television and use like a sound bar?

I can’t find anywhere where it says it can run on batteries. I’ve been looking for a good boombox that does run on batteries, but this doesn’t look like it.

The only thing that uses batteries is the remote. It needs to be plugged in. So, yeah, the picture with it on the bench is a little deceptive.

What ? No cassette player included ?

it lost me when it said iphone. I want a droid boombox

Yep, just as I feared. Would anyone know what would be the closest hing to this that DOES run on batteries? I’m familiar with the TDK boomboxes, but that’s about it.

This is still a great deal, assuming you’re not looking for something to carry around.

Merry Christmas Woot!!

The Lasonic i-931BTQ is probably the closest thing that runs on batteries, however, it is only 60watts (30 watts per side). It’s also bluetooth so it works well with Apple or Android AND it has a cool retro look.

Sharp GX-M10 portable boombox (takes 10 D cells) and has some serious bass… and super loud…

This one may be a little overkill (Pyle-Pro PWMA860I 500W), but it DOES have a rechargeable battery! There is also an 1000w version.

I have this exact system and I love it, but it is huge. You’re not lugging this thing around anywhere. But the color changing speakers are very cool. Also the ability to play off your own playlists or Pandora or whatever is on your device is nice. As a bonus, it charges while it’s connected too.

I got mine retail so I paid a bit more for it so this is a nice deal, but don’t get this thinking it’s just a handheld boombox. It takes up most of my long dresser.

Anyone have the dimensions of this? Its not listed in the specs.
