dishwasher safe??
What item? The pocket knife? I wouldn’t recommend putting that in the dishwasher. Those ceramic gun mugs would be fine, though.
Where’s the flashlight and pressure gauge in the picture, that would have been exciting. Certainly more friendly than a bunch of knives.
Hmmm, I only gift knives to the closest friends. However this price for the Rucksack is still just normal price of online retailers
The gun mugs look cool and all, but I fear they would promote poor trigger discipline.
KInd of disappointing the blue flashlights aren’t for sale. Why are they pictured? I’ve bought a few of these and everyone I’ve given them to really like them.
Thoughts on the Stanley flask? I know they are made in China, but not sure on overall quality.

No kidding. I was hoping for one or both of those. The other stuff - meh.

Same here, I really wanted the flashlight. Why post a pic of something they’re not selling.
Can someone from woot explain to me why I can’t ship a simple pocket knife (which does not violate any NYS laws - NYC might be a different story since they make it up as the go along) to my home address with a 11010 zip code (~5 miles from NYC) or my office address with a 11779 zip code (>30 miles from NYC) but I can ship it to my uncle’s business in a 11001 zip code (borders NYC).
I would love to hear the justification for this seemingly arbitrary shipping restriction from someone on woot or amazon’s legal team, because I can purchase the same product on amazon and have it shipped prime to myself at any of the above addresses.

I think it depends if the City of New York has jurisdiction over those locations.

They don’t. NYC has Manhattan, Queens, Kings,Staten Island, and the Bronx.
Nassau and Suffolk counties do not fall under NYC rules/law (despite how much Nassau tries/wishes)
The funny point I bring up, which makes it evident that the restrictions are arbitrary, is the fact that a 11001 zip code in Nassau which literally borders Queens (NYC) is safe to ship to, while a 11779 zip out on exit 58 on the LIE 2 counties over in Suffolk (again like 30+ miles from NYC) is not.
We go through this everytime woot has any kind of pointy object up for sale, and there has never been (to my knowledge) any legitimate response or justification.
I would even be happy if they flat out said “No shipping to NY” and applied an even hand across the board instead of their current cherry picked shipping restriction without justification. At least there would be some closure and an even application of the policy.
If it does come to that, I will just shop locally and give someone else my business for such items if I am so inclined, yanno - since they are perfectly legal.
Further- The NYS PL regarding knives is Section 265.01: Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree
A swiss army knife, as well as many/most of the knives offered by woot on a regular basis are NOT switchblades, ballistic knives, gravity knives, shirkens, “Kung Fu Stars”, dirks, stilettos, razors, etc…
The emphasized part above (emphasis added by me) even goes a step further and states that mere possession is not a crime, one must have “intent to use […] unlawfully against another;”
Owning, possessing, or even carrying such a device is not a crime until you intend to, or use it against another person as per 265.04 (2).
@Woot - please tell me what is preventing you from shipping a swiss army knife (or any other pocket knife for that matter) to the 50+ counties in NY that AREN’T NYC?

REI has them for 22 bucks. And I just bought one from them this morning…oops. Pull the trigger. My stanley travel coffee mug holds up great to abuse.

There are others regarding:
the sale of knives
and
possession of knives
So…it can’t have a locking blade, must be under 4 inches long, and can’t be out in the open…
A swiss army knife typically doesn’t lock nor is the blade longer than 4 inches, so I don’t know. It’s probably just easier to not sell any knives than try to decide which ones meet the criteria.
I hope someone can help me with this question. My current water filter un screws where the water comes out so I can plug my washing machine adapter into it so I don’t have to remove the whole filter system. Does anybody have this item and know if I can unscrew the screen from the water filter so I can plug in my washing machine adapter instead of the screen? I would imagine it does, so the screen can be replaced upon occasion, but just need to make sure as I don’t want to have to remove the whole filter just plug in the washing machine adapter every single time I wash. Thanks so much for anyone that can help.

What you referenced there is NYC Administrative code, and is in no way shape or form the laws of the other 57 counties in the state.
NYS PL 265 which I referenced above is the law of the land everywhere except the 5 boroughs of the city, in which NYC Administrative code has local preemption.
If Woot wants to restrict sales to NYC because of those rules, then so be it. But it isn’t right to penalize the other 92% of the state because of the draconian laws of one locality.
Further, the shipping restrictions are completely arbitrary. Why are certain zip codes in Nassau or other non-NYC counties acceptable while the vast majority are not? There is no difference in the laws of zip codes 11001 and 11010. In fact the two are less than a mile away from eachother, with 11010 being further away from NYC, and yet 11001 has no shipping restriction but 11010 does.
Woot really needs to fix this, because if you look at the sales charts from anytime something like this goes up, NY is black because such a small % of us actually can purchase the items, even though they are perfectly legal for 92% of the state (57/62 counties).
Honestly - either black out and restrict shipping to only the zip codes that fall under the NYC jurisdiction (falling New York County (Manhattan), Kings County (Brooklyn), Bronx County (The Bronx), Richmond County (Staten Island), and Queens County (Queens).) and open up the rest of the state, or disallow shipping to NY altogether, because the current system is very broken.
Will any of these items pass through
airport security?
