It appears the battery is the same as the Snow Joe. This price is about what you’d have to pay for the battery and charger alone.
What I’m wondering is the difference between this ion8ps and the ion8ps2 that is offered at Rural King? Apparently this is the discontinued model.

The older version (this) is heavier (10.8 lbs. versus 8.6 lbs.) but has a longer reach (adjustable from 6.2 ft. to 9.8 ft. versus adjustable from 6.1 ft to 8.5 ft).

Bought this on the last go-around with very low expectations. To my surprise, I trimmed EVERY tree on my entire driveway, took about an hour and a half. The battery still had juice! Amazing! The actual pole is a bit cumbersome when fully extended, and, as you can imagine, it is slow since there is no pushing downward as you would with a normal saw. That said, I bought this for less then what my tree guy charges for the job and I get to do upkeep. All in all, exceedingly happy with my Sun Joe!
