I pulled the trigger on the mixed case as well last time. I really liked the Pinot and the Meritage. I wasn’t crazy about the Zemlja’s Blend (I wanted to like it, I really did, it was a special wine from the winemaker, and perhaps the second bottle will age well), and I thought the Petite Sirah was average, but it too may need some more time in the bottle (I recently had a Concannon 2001 Reserve Petite Sirah that was out of this world, very unexpected). The Merlot was nice as well. I still have several bottles left, and I did feel that their wine was somewhat food oriented, and definitely old world. I like the fact that they make small lots in a boutique style and source their fruit from variety of different NorCal vineyards.

I’m on the fence on this offer, if the Merlot was Pinot, I’d be all in, but it’s not…hmmmm

I’ve purchased half bottles of Pinot Noir on wine.woot. But yes, I can’t believe it’d be anything other than 750ml if nothing is stated.

They should follow the ad link to steel-plated fallout/storm shelters on the main page. I also wonder if the shelters could double as wine cellars. Then maybe I’d have room for a 12 bottle wine purchase.

Still have some left from last case, will pass this time. They are just OK wines. I had two that were corked and a lot of sediment in them. The pinot was nice but the others were so so. Buying a case of this stuff is too much maybe 4-6 bottles at most.

If these were from France, and the Merlot were a Pinot, I’d be in for 3! I have a giant hole in my cellar where all the French wines have vanished. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am curious about the yeast used in these. Any ideas? I wonder if importing French yeast would help the Cali Bordeaux-wannabes…

Ah! Cellartracker does have some data on these, albeit not much. Based on the average price at this point (around $26/bottle) this woot deal looks pretty smoking hot!

PS: COME ON WOOT! Update your forum software to recognize URLs and auto-linkify them! This is stupid that I have to specifically tag each one with a [ url ]!

Ok. I’m dumbass. Cesare did put the CT links up there. I guess I didn’t have enough Pinot for breakfast!

Anyway, this deal sounds pretty good, so I’m in. And, woot! I’m available to rat, so make me stfu and rat me for once!

It might be a bit early to think about wine… I think I’m in for one. As a winemaking neighbor and semi-regular drinker of these wines… The drinking window is more than likely still way out on these wines. Look at the lower alcs. This is usually an indicator of old world, age-worthy stuff. My kinda wine. I gotta ask the boss if I can buy… when she wakes up;)

We figured that out from your avatar!

Yes he did, but it took -much- longer than usual to edit his timely post. In the past I’ve linked too, only to come back and see them appear.

I really want to like this. The only bottle that hasn’t metaled, according to the winery, is the 2004 Clear Lake W. Strycker. Using CT pricing this is half price, with winery pricing this is a buy-one-get-three deal. Seems like WineDavid pretty well summed it up with “Screaming deal to be sure” only thing missing here is the monkey!

Now that I’ve slept on it, the question just becomes, one or two.

I’m less a wine-ocrat and more enjoy the awesome taste of these types of wine. I also look for good value, based on what I’d pay off-woot…these retail at $41+ a bottle (ave.), so…with the Meritage alone in the mix, and the rest better to much better than average, this woot is a steal. I’m in.

Is there any way to buy another case when you’ve ordered one, or should I just think this through better next time before pulling the trigger on a one-case order?

Let’s not forget the 2007 Hahn Estates Cabernet Sauvignon Smith and Hook offered by wine.woot back in May - they were 1.5’s - wish they would fit in my wine refrigerator…

If it doesn’t sell out, e-mail customer service & request they increase your order. That’s always worked for me in the past.

Alternatively, you could gift a set to someone you trust. I plead the 5th on ever doing this to increase my allowed quantity of Corison.

 Thanks Randy

Thank you
