Hey all- Here’s a quick note from the vendor about the lenses, "If they are “Mela” lenses, that is Sundog’s version of upgraded/polarized lenses."

Time to learn all about Sundog

Just curious where Woot gets their “List price”. Sundog’s website has the Flight model for $49.99 and not $70. Just a decent deal on Woot after tax and shipping. Sundog offers free shipping and a 15% discount for signing up for their newsletter. Just sayin’.

#7

You are looking at the basic lenses MSRP. What Woot is offering is the upgraded Mela lenses from Sundog which have a higher MSRP/retail.

I bought 2 pair a couple of weeks ago from here and I have to say for the $19.99 price tag each I am very happy with them.

Wow. Loads of great info on these sunglasses, Woot. Couldn’t take the time to write ONE sentence describing them?

Psst…Your Amazon is showing.

#10

My initial thought was that someone was spamming woot with sunglasses like they do on other websites.

#11

Got a pair of these glasses for free at a golf tournament over the summer. Granted they weren’t the upgraded lenses but the frames and lenses I did get were just meh.

I bought a different style of Sundogs a couple of years ago. The problem I had was the nose rests are a rubbery material that are glued on to plastic (think mortise and tenon). The glue didn’t hold up and the nose rests came off. These appear to have similar design.

edit: answered my own question about lenses. The Mela-Lens themselves do not behave like polarized.

Do these have polarized lenses?

#14

+1 Can anyone find ANY info about transmission rates of these sunglasses—home site has nothing. Light transmission is WHY I buy sunglasses—without specs these are useless.

#15

It appears that the Mela lenses are NOT polarized unless indicated as “Mela Lens Polarized”. These sunglasses seem to only come with Sundog’s “Mela” lenses. http://sundogeyewear.com/pages/mela-lens-technology

Please correct me if I am wrong. I’d love to buy a pair if the shades are guaranteed to come polarized.

I got 6 pair of these. 4 were shipped without the cleaning cloth/bag that comes standard with these glasses. How is it possible to recieve a Sundog product, that is not complete. Maybe these are bootleg products? The packaging could be described as cheap looking at best. I’m wondering if I’ve been ripped off here? Pretty simple to go to the Sundog website and see that these bags are included with the glasses. I got bags on 2 of 6 pair.
