While the specs claim this wood chipper to be able to handle up to 3" diameter, I have found that it struggles with 2" diameter, and frequently bogs down and stalls, needing to be fed short sections dangerously (risk of kickkback), or hand-fed (even more dangerously due to kickback with your arm/body in line). Below 2" diameter it generally handles fine if left on the wide open throttle settings, at which point I hesitate to wonder why they bothered to PUT 4 toggled on/off switches. (fuel shutoff, ignition shutoff, choke, and speed) when they could have easily had it with 2-3 by combining the choke and throttle together. Expecially since there is no realistic point to running a wood chipper on any other speed than full since it is a safety hazard to move or re-position it while running.
Glad I bought this for $400 instead of the $700+ they usually retail for. It will handle the small brush and small branches, but I will need to have a burn pile for the larger branches and upper trunks after all.
