Swiss Army Nomad One-Hand-Open Knife

This is correct. Add to that Wenger and you have the two companies that produce “Swiss Army” knives. Much the same as Mora knives are made by Frost and a few other manufacturers.

Thanks for the info about other one handed knives. I’ll look around a little before hitting the “Buy” button.

I’d be much more confident about buying this product if I knew in what country it was made. (In a brick-and-mortar store, I would check the knife or its packaging before purchasing.) I’ve been burned too many times by products made you-know-where. And while Victorinox has a great reputation, so do a great many other companies who have had their products manufactured offshore for the sake of the bottom line…

Victorinox and Wenger have merged. You can check out this article to read more about the merger. Victorinox News

It does indeed have a Lifetime Warranty by Victorinox (Swiss Army).

…You won’t be sorry.

This handle style has been available for decades. I have three with this handle and think it is superior to the classic shape in every conceivable way with better grip in shape, better grip in texture, and better blind feel as to business end. I prefer the ones with the amazingly sharp and effective saw, like these:

Thanks for the heads up. I had not heard that.

Thanks! I wasn’t paying attention. Looks like I’m replacing my old one. IFO

Anyone know why this can’t ship to NY? I thought it was only knives that have a spring loaded opening mechanism that are illegal in NYS?

Allegedly Victorinox bought out Wenger so they would be the only company able to market their knives as “Swiss-army” knives. It may be worthwhile to note, however, that while this is shaped like a more modern folder, the blade doesn’t use a modern steel. This steel will let you down if you’ve ever had a nicer knife.

How It’s Made did an episode on Victorinox including a tour of their factory. It’s actually a pretty interesting episode. You can find it
