So I saw corn on the cob cut down the length soaked in bbq sauce then air fryed as Vegan ribs anyone try this? Seems this fad is taking forever to go away. Had an air fryer for 20yrs before it became a thing when it was a thing last time
We use ours only for re-heating fast food. Works great for thet! I can not imagine BBQ corn tasting anything like ribs though!
Oh don’t worry. The last thing I heard is that unless it’s stainless steel it’s infusing your food with chemical that permanently become part of your body.
Also it may cause cancer in the state of California.
No problem then it is on its way out
Can’t believe I have lived this long I used to achew the lead paint off my crib and drink…dun dun dun well water from the garden hose I am a freaking miracle
Everything causes cancer in California that is why people move from California I am sure of it. The rest of the states are way safer and apparently cancer free zones
I have not tried vegan “bbq ribs” however, I can see that having a use so vegan friends can feel included in the group. And not have to purchase the processed soy fake meat. Kind of like decaffeinated coffee and non-alcoholic beer.
If air frying was really a thing 20 years ago, it wasn’t in a convenient & affordable form, with a small footprint and easy to clean. Are you sure you’re not thinking of the microwave oven? Or toaster oven?
I didn’t jump on the bandwagon and was late to the party. Matter of fact, @davejlives sent me my first air fryer. That said, I cook chicken, salmon, burgers, bacon wrapped Brussel sprouts, broccoli and grilled cheese from scratch. In addition to reheating.
Which air fryer hurt you? At least take comfort in the fact that this little machine allows folks with physical disabilities or mobility issues to cook regular stuff as well as whatever tik tok trend they might want to try with less difficulty.
And… I can’t just have y’all sh!t talking on my state. The cancer is caused everywhere. California is the only one that tells you ahead of time.
Why would you want it to go away?
I don’t think I need to tell anyone here, (especially bc nobody likes a “know-it-all” or someone who just continuously lectures) but we, as Americans, are the most obese nation in the world-diet and exercise play into that-or lack thereof.
If this is considered a fad, by all means, I hope it stays. We need more healthy “fads.” It’s the other not so fun “fads” or goofy stuff that IMHO can gk by the wayside.
Like Weight Watchers always likes to point out in their meetings, etc: it’s not a diet, it’s a way of life.
I think it’s awesome for you that you discovered the glorious-ness (is that even a word-Apple autocorrect doesn’t seem to think so) of an air fryer so many years ago. I hope it’s kept you and your family healthy-and I truly mean that.
I only wish I knew about like you did, long before it was finally crowned “Mr or Miss Popularity in the high school yearbook. I say, it’s never too late or too early to eat and be healthy.
Haha just saw this message sorry for the late response I am sure it was/is an air fryer the big boy I have now is exactly like the one I gave away 20yrs ago it has a frying lid that sits over a ginormous clear glass bowl it is a nice machine I rarely use it I have never been overly impressed with most of the make life easier appliances it is just the way I am I don’t think things take that much longer in an oven I don’t even use my microwave but once in a while (2+mo since last time). Both my big boy and crockpot gets plenty of use in the summer. I have an industrial gas stove the ovens when both are lit in the fall sit at 180° the kitchen is hot all year long so when the temp hits 90° outside the ovens go off.
I am kidding about California it is a long standing joke for Oregonians to diss California like most of my Calli friends call us hillbillies, rednecks and wanna be Californians. Have a great weekend
I like air fried Oreos. Much healthier than deep fried.
I didn’t know you were in Oregon! That makes it much more innocent. Most folks that talk crap about California are in a different time zone. And I can feel the hate oozing from their pores. Which is funny as central and top of the state northern California are an entirely different world than the bay area, LA or San Diego.
AND WAIT… are you talking about that Flavor wave or NuWave from the infomercials??? Omg my step-dad had one and I loved that thing!!! But it was huge and heavy and a pain to clean. But I could put frozen chicken breast and watch it cook. I asked my mom because I wanted it and she said she threw it out years ago.
2 of my friends with small children would be lost without their air fryers. 8/10 times I ask what is for dinner it’s something in the air fryer. Salmon & veggies, burgers, chicken breast, chicken nuggets etc. No hot pans to worry about them touching nor have to worry about watching something on the stove if you’ve got to stop and check on kids being too quiet and last seen with markers.
So many people have no idea that North California is above San Francisco I think because East Coast states have so much crammed in so little space that they just don’t understand the shear size of West Coast states it takes like 6 to 8hrs to get to Portland with no traffic. Also the mountains we have over here are huge. Where I live on the Southern Oregon border if I have to wait in traffic more then 15 minutes I am behind a school bus or it is Christmas shopping season. I can’t remember the one we used to have but it was clear and it was one of the first ones that were sold when they moved in to stores it was bought at Kmart in early '90s I gave it away 2005 my dad bought me another one about 5yrs ago I will never get rid of it it was one of the last things he bought for me.
