Tablets & E-Readers

You can get the same apple ipad, refurb, at the apple store right now for $519!

Am I allowed to say that? Doh!

Yep, was just going to say that.

We’ve lowered our price on that iPad to $509. Now go buy all the tablets.

If you already purchased, that money will fly back into your pockets soonish.

JUNK!!! Don’t purchase. Ours worked for 1 day. I have sent three emails to woot and no response as of yet!

Order # 499xxxx

Purchased on 9/15. Send us a new on that works!

Issue with tablet

I’m sorry for the problem. Our email is being difficult. Could you please resubmit using the Support form at the top of any woot page.

In the meantime, I’ll add you to my afternoon report so CS can look into it.

I really don’t like to badmouth products but… anyone buying the faux kobo reader for $14… don’t waste your time. I got one months back, I ignored everyone saying avoid it. I figured I would load a few books on it and stick it in my desk drawer at work for those REALLY slow moments (3 p.m. anyone?)

It’s dreck. The screen is barely readable. Loading books was borderline painful. I don’t even know where I put it… It is a waste of money, if you want a kobo go with a real one.

The Acer Iconia Tab W700-6831 W that is listed in the sellout section. Does it come with the keyboard? Looking in other places it looks like it normally comes with one?

Per the ‘In the box’ section of the Specs tab, it doesn’t look like a keyboard is included with this tablet.

i saw the asus infinity go sold out and now it’s not sold out, i forsee overselling in the past present and near future also newegg is selling it for 10 dollars cheaper with free shipping same condition! woweee!

Seconded regarding the “Kobo” e-reader - it’s a worthless POS.

I too thought I would get one to play with for the price, figuring it’d at least be an amusement for a desk drawer, but it’s almost non-functional as a device. I’m impressed that woot is selling something so shoddy: seriously a new low.

And it’s worth pointing out that it’s a knockoff. It’s not a device manufactured by Kobo. It just claims to be “kobo-compatible”, it turns out. It’s actually made by “Slick”, an appropriately slimy name for a company peddling such a worthless piece of trash. Selling it as a “Kobo e-reader” is disingenuous at best, and is really an outright lie.

If you are getting the Iconia 8.1 tablet, it may not charge correctly when you get it. If it doesn’t, you need to do an upgrade on the bios and get the fixes to update it. It took me 3 days to get mine going and it was a pain, but now I have a Windows 8.1 tablet for less $$$ what I could have gotten a Ipad or Kindle. So if you are a tech Savvy person, by all means get one and work with it.

Did anyone else receive a refund for the Acer Iconia Tab W700-6831 they purchased?

This has been the 3rd time the same tablet has been listed on various woots. Last month I purchased this exact same tablet and it took roughly 3wks to find out from CS that “Amazon (their warehouse; our inventory) marked them as hazmat for some unknown reason.”

I have now placed two orders, had $324 tied up for a total of 3-4wks, and still have nothing to show for it…

Why does woot continue to list the same products when you know they can’t be shipped to your customers?!

I’m sorry for the frustrating experience. CS would be the best place for an answer.

mine arrived DOA

I hate this process…sigh

Make sure you give it a full 24hr charge via a wall outlet before you declare it dead.

I don’t even get an amber light when I plug it in to charge. Its possible its the charger but I cant find an affordable charger with a matching plug to save my life and woot woldnt pay for that anyhow…I asked.

errr…okay, wait a minute.

I plugged it in a left it as suggested. I DO NOT GET ANY LIGHT on the power button. No color LED’s of any kind.

so I think its ok?

No such luck. The LED came on finally but the second you unplug the charger even at 100% the unit shuts off instantly.

My Iconia 8.1 tablet has refuse to power on or show indicator light that something is been plug into it.
Does it mean that woot sells us a dead tablet?

please i need help

please how did you get into bios setting when the device is not even powered on.

My Acer Iconia tablet has not been power on since purchase
