The Polaroid Android – Your plastic pal who’s FUN to be with!
The Asus Transformer or the Samsung Tabs come out on top ( I love my transformer). The Polaroids are consistently rated as garbage. The Vizio tablet has a design flaw in the charging port where it has a nasty habit of coming apart from the main board and killing your tablet. The connector is of course not available to fix yourself (I had to find a close fit aftermarket off e-bay and it sort of kinda works). Viewsonic abandoned the G-Tablet after they released it so their track record for support is not the greatest (great tablet though).
And thanks again Woot for not shipping tablets to APO addresses like every other company in the world seems to be able to do. In the last 2 years ago you shipped me an entire bike, a TV, and the very Vizio tablet on the page today, but somehow can no longer do that for any sales recently.
Anybody know how well the Polaroids would work for a 4 year old? It doesn’t need to be the best, but I’d like to be able to have digital books, some learning apps, etc on there. I know it probably seems crazy to some for a 4 year old… But eh, it’s my kid… Everything in moderation.

I caveat that I have not owned the Polaroid, but I have read a lot about them since they keep showing up here cheap and I kept thinking about if for the same reasons you are. I think you will end up with a frustrated 4 year old if you buy it. These tablets are generally reported as less responsive and the battery life is terrible. You would be much better off picking up something like a first gen Nexus 7 that I have seen recently as low as $139 for a refurb. The Terga 3 processor will keep you happy for some time.
And by the way I regularly let my 4 year old use my G-Tablet as a good introduction to the way the world works now with tablets and computers.
Anyone get a shipping number? Kind of thought it would actually have shipped by now.
I haven’t received my tracking number yet, but other forum posts say to give it up to 5 days before you get worried!
Correct, please allow 3-5 business days for the order to be processed and shipped out.

Oh all right. Guess I thought with Woot being Woot-azon now this process would get quicker. I swear Amazon sometimes ships items before I’ve even ordered them!
So . . .3-5 business days before shipped and then shipped via Smartpost . . .should see this puppy sometime around the 1st of the year.
ROFL. Hopefully sooner than that. We do often use the FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon)warehouses for our inventory but we also drop ship directly from our vendors. For the latter, allow the 3-5 business days. We state when the item will ship on the sale detail page below the title.

Apparently my tracking info was sent via an electronic version of smart post (that name still cracks me up) or perhaps another victim of the government shutdown? Or the powers that be used their time machine to go back and expedite my order. Anywhohow, says right now it will be in my hot little hands tomorrow! (Squeal). Of course experience has also taught me that tracking could show it being re-routed through Oregon instead. All part of the Woot charm.
In conclusion, patience is a virtue that I must continue to work on. Ordered on Friday (late afternoon) and arrived on Wednesday (mid morning)of the following week. So not even 3 full business days from order to receipt. Good job Woot!
