I’ve had a TCL Roku TV since they first came out, and I have to say I love it. It HAS crashed, but that’s rare, and unplugging it and re-plugging it fixes the problem just fine. Otherwise, I hit the power button and am clicking through menu options within ten seconds. The YouTube app is good, as are Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Netflix, and there are a ton of free television and movie apps out there. It’s certainly better than the average smart TV your parents end up with, and there’s no stick or box to plug in.

I bought this exact model new a few weeks ago for $255 at a warehouse club. It crashes daily, so much that they actually included “if your TV is non-responsive, unplug it, it’s not a broken remote” in the set-up troubleshooting guide. I wanted to like the idea of a Roku TV and a spiffy interface, but this model will be going back to the store.

All in all, it’s got a great picture with a fast 120 Hz refresh rate, but the constant crashing is a problem. Great option for a “budget TV,” though your mileage may vary.

I have the 32" version of this and I love it. It has never crashed for me.
