I’ve left a review on Amazon and also prattled on about this speaker during the last offering. If it’s $59.99 and new, it’s a good price for this. I paid ~$120 new IIRC and it’s worth it. The only down side to this unit is the battery life is relatively short at just about 3 hours, and the charging cord has barrel connector instead of USB. But other than those little things, it’s a great speaker, especially at this price.
I second this comment! I bought it at a higher price as well (not the 299.00 it originally sold for though) and still love it no less! This speaker is a beast…in sound, construction, and d*%ned coolness!
I bought this last time it was for sale, and it works great with my iPhone. However, neither my tablet or my gf’s phone will connect with it. Both are Samsung Tab devices. Anyone know why this might be the case? It doesn’t even show up when we search for bluetooth devices on those electronics.
Did you put the speaker into discoverable mode by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button until the speaker beeps and the blue light starts to flash faster? When the blue light is flashing fast you should then be able to see it on your other devices and pair to it.
I received this speaker as a Christmas gift from when it was offered back in December. I had been holding out for a long time waiting for a good waterproof speaker and I haven’t been disappointed. Connection has flaked out a couple times, but always comes right back after refreshing the bluetooth connection on my iphone. It’s definitely a steal at this price.
That kills it for me. I have a sharkk and I really like the sound, but I was thinking of moving to this. I don’t want to carry another power supply. I like having to only bring a few lightning and usb mini usb cables for everything on a trip.
I bought one of these around Black Friday from B&H for essentially the same price here once you include shipping. For the price, it can’t be beat. My three dings would be the non-USB charger, short battery life, and lack of crisp highs. (The bass is incredible for a speaker of this size, however.) I mention battery life because mine at full charge will only last about 30 minutes at a normal volume level. I had read somewhere that many new units being sold are actually a year or two old (likely sitting in a warehouse), so the battery isn’t really very fresh. I usually keep mine plugged in when I’m using it so it’s not a big deal for me. I doubt the battery is replaceable without tearing into the unit. It’s not accessible through a battery door or anything like that.
I picked one up from The Mothership last month for the same price. I agree that it is built like a tank and it sounds very nice. Time will tell how long the battery is good for, but so far so good. I actually like the barrel connector for charging.
Bought this the last time offered at a higher price, but love it and it is weatherproof. Sounds great across the whole spectrum. Battery life is nice. This is a great deal my buddy has a Bose Bluetooth speaker and my TDK is louder and sounds better according to all our friends. They are all buying some.
