Good reviews at Amazon

Texton Tools Homepage

I bought one of these at Amazon a while back so I’d have all of the tiny bits necessary to fix my wife’s phone that had fallen in the bathtub.

It’s come in handy for lots of things since then. I’ve been very happy with it.

Just with the pentadrive and security torx this is a good deal – in for one

After tax and shipping the price is only a 4$ difference than the Amazon Prime price. So much for a sale. It’s a shame the shipping costs and tax inflates the prices so much here nowadays. I barely buy anything here anymore as a result.

Glad its not just me that feels the same way.

A suggested alternative that lacks the portable drive handle (I have about six of them anyway) is this cheaper set for only $14 (was $21.99; order today for a $7.99 discount & free shipping)
Northern Industrial Tools 130-Pc. SAE Drill Accessory Set

Postage is a sad fact of life. It costs more than five dollars to send this set, I imagine. I sell on eBay and often pay part of the postage to relieve the burden on the customer. Amazon has free shipping with a $35 purchase, which used to be $25. Times are changing.

Doesn’t look like the set you linked to includes pentalobe bits. A single bit is $8 at ifixit so the Woot set is well worth it if you need to deal with iDevices.

Playing devils advocate here… BY LAW you’re SUPPOSED to collect your own taxes and pay pay them on internet items that are out of state purchases. We just never do and get spoiled because of it because there’s nobody to enforce it.

…so don’t go hating on Amazon/Woot, etc. It’s not their fault, they’re just following the law. Once you open a place of business in a state you reside in, you then have to pay the taxes because the business has presence there. My state just got some kind of amazon warehouse (or not) as well recently and well… we get taxed now too (via amazon/woot)

I did the math real quick, thats a savings of a little over 13%. $4 doesn’t seem like much out of context but 13% is a decent amount to save if you’re in the market for a tool set like this…

If you just want the precision/phone/electronics set, it is on Amazon for ~$12:

I’ll probably go that route as I already have most everything else in other sets.

DUDE! This is my dream Warranty Removal Kit!

I do already have the precision and security sets, but this has them all in one carrier! Doh! What to do what do do?

I bought one of these on Amazon a year or so ago after graduating college. Its a very good kit for its price, contains basically any bit you could want in a very nice compact package.

I"ve noticed a significant difference since Amazon ate Woot. Maybe it is my imagination but I think not
