Bought this on a Woot! deal this past summer and it’s a great thermo for smoking. Just make sure to remove the thermometer from the plastic wire holders (the round part on the end of the pictured thermometers).
Fantastic deal and very worthwhile. It’s as accurate as my thermapen. I’ve used this several times and it’s great. Only dislike is the app - if you close it out you lose your history.
I bought one on the Mothership last spring. Works great for smoking. I can put a probe in each of the pork shoulders in my kamado (I can fit 3-4) and leave one on the grate to monitor cooking temp.
My only bad experience was using it on the grill while cooking a big piece of salmon. I didn’t really need it, but was more trying it out when new. It could handle the temp from grilling, but I had a flare up from grease, and the silicon part of the probe was in flame for a minute or two. It’s toast - glad the set came with 6 probes!
