Weight 7.0000

For the camp mat:
$42 at Amazon with not so bad reviews. They only have 9 left - maybe they should get some from woot at $25!

“The Texsport 22459 Yellow Float Bag is water-tight to keep your belongs safe dry.”

Belongings safe and dry???

Whoops. I’ll send that in for fixing.

I’m in for a self inflating mat. I have a smaller one that I bought from Amazon last year that I like, but it’s not quite long enough for me. At $25 bucks, my son AND I can both enjoy better comfort sleeping on the ground!

Does anyone know anything about the grill? I’ve been trying to decide between the coleman roadtrip or the webber q120. But this has the advantage of being half the cost. Now I know any of these can cook a hot dog but how about a burger without drying it out? Or a nice t bone. T-Bone! Great now I want steak.

There is NO WAY those backpacks have the correct volume listed. Does the one that’s “65 Liters” look like it could hold 30+ soda bottles to you? THESE are 65 Liter backpacks:

According to the manufacturer’s website: YES

http://www.texsport.com/PDF%20Break-Down/2013/2013%20Catalog%20Packs%20&%20Bags.pdf

They look like one I have. Not good for the back but can hold a deceptively large volume of stuff. Mine has almost no structure but I can stuff a weekend camping trip’s worth of personal items (clothing + toiletries + sleeping bag) into it.

Food + tents was shared out and didn’t go into the backpack, this was < 1 hour hike down to the beach.

Typo, 21.4×15.3×3.9 = 1,276.938 cu in or 21 litres

We have to go by the manufacturer’s specs. Sorry. :frowning:

UPDATE: The buyer contacted the vendor and guess what? Their stuff was wrong. The Cameron has been updated to 27 Liters.

ThunderThighs, that’s definitely not a defense in the eyes of the law.

Suppose we were talking about a child product – you could choose to rely on the manufacturer’s representation that the product was compliant with current CISPA laws – but that would be your choice, you don’t have to go by what they say. So also for any other laws that I am aware of. And ofcourse, ethically, I’d say that if I were a retailer and making money for being an intermediary, then “the manufacturer told me so” wouldn’t meet my own standards that I set for myself – even the good Samaritan laws don’t apply if you are being paid as an EMT/doctor/nurse, see?

When it comes to weights and measures, if it was an omission, I understand, but if a manufacturer told you that something was XX kilos and it didn’t turn out to be, we have no contract with the manufacturer – only with you. So I don’t think that you should say “they told me so” as a defense… rather “hey, sorry, that was clearly an error” would probably work a lot better with most people.

Just my thoughts about what’s right – not that I am looking to sit for a bar exam or anything! Love the site and all that you (personally) do!

Could these bamboo plates work for regular household use? I see they’re dishwasher safe, just wondering how durable.

I came here to ask the same question!

i’m sending your question along. stay tuned, friends.

Thanks PemberDucky. I need some new plates, and I really love the idea of this ecologically friendly take on it, just want to make sure I won’t be tossing/composting them in a couple weeks (thus really defeating the purpose of it for me).

Thank you! Hopefully they wont sell out!

We don’t have any specific information on this from the vendor. My Google-fu found that if you plan to use bamboo dishes daily, you shouldn’t soak them in water, use abrasives, or put them in the dishwasher. They are wood after all. Any of these can damage their finish after a while.

Picnic dishes for occasional use are probably fine for the dishwasher.
