Where’s the text? This doesn’t make sense without the text. Is he happy because he’s short?
I guess they wanted to make it more kid-friendly? I’ve seen some strange edits now and again (like removing a shadow and/or skewing the dimensions).
Really Woot? I am really disappointed about this edit.
First, I wasn’t even told this was going to happen. We could’ve come up with a different solution together if you really wanted to have this on your catalog. The joke gets completely lost without the text. This design makes NO sense now. No one will buy this, I even have a coupon for it as the designer and I don’t think I even want it as a free shirt. That make me so sad and mad.
You even have designs on your catalog with the word “c-ock” visible and we all now it has nothing to do with chickens. And designs with the middle finger quite visible. Worried about the design not being “kid friendly”? It looks to me like a double standard.
I had this idea sketched out for more than a year now and when the Artist Choice derby was announced I knew it was the perfect opportunity to finish it and submit it. Now I feel that one of my best designs is wasted. I feel cheated of my artwork. I can’t even submit it to other shirt sites now. It feels so greedy from your side.
You used almost half of the submitted designs on that derby for the two part side sale. Artists thought that by submitting to this derby they had a chance to have a daily feature, but instead they became part of an enormous side sale which helps nobody, not the artist nor Woot. Too many designs sold at once, sales get so wide spread it is not even worth it.
It saddens me that things like these are happening. **YOU KNOW HOW BIG MY LOVE for Shirt.Woot is, I don’t have to go into details but people here know what I am talking about. ** It makes me sad to see that the love artists have for this site and the passion they have for shirt designing is not being reciprocated.
I am very sad indeed…

I can totally understand your frustration. While it seems like a small change, the entire meaning is muddled- and now you can’t post it anywhere else.
I feel like, at this point, the D contracts should just be replaced entirely with F contracts.
(If you don’t know, a D contract has no upfront payment, 2 bucks a shirt, and WOOT GAINS OWNERSHIP OF ALL PRINTING RIGHTS- An F contract is identical, except THE ARTIST RETAINS THE RIGHTS and can therefore post it on other shirt sites.)
The D contract is very undesireable to an artist, especially now that Amazon Merch is around. It seems especially odd that artists can’t put woot shirts for sale there, when woot themselves sell woot shirts on it.
Making HMs print with F contracts would be a great incentive for artists to submit artwork during the derby when they have no chance of winning AND would lessen the sting of such edits.
Thank you for your feedback, oakenspirit. We are actively reviewing our artist agreement(s) and appreciate your insight and feedback.
Howdy, Omar (and everyone else). Thanks for sharing your concerns. As a still newish team, we appreciate hearing feedback like this. It’s important and helpful for us, and for shirt.woot.
Omar, let’s you and I continue this conversation offline so that we can work through the specific issues at play here. But as a general note (and as krollig2 mentioned), we’re working to address a lot of the underlying issues and concerns you bring up. In the meantime, thanks for all that you and the rest of the incredible artist community do. For reals.
