The Other Thing With Feathers

Wow this looks totally awesome!! I’m definitely in for one! :smiley:

Intriguing and beautiful design, but it does seem a tad too dark for me.

I am suprised that this shirt is so popular. Not for me but certainly an interesting one. It reminds me of the word “macabre.”

This shirt seems pretty badass but i just bought spore so no free money :frowning:

Nice design, works well on a black shirt, but the design is way too big for my taste.

I actually like this shirt quite a bit. It’s so bizarre and yet I find it intriguing. I’m a huge owl fan and this reminds me of owls…only in a really twisted sense. :slight_smile:

I’m most likely passing since I have bought a few shirts recently but I would love receiving this as a random in the future.

Congratulations to the artist. :slight_smile:

I guess I’m the odd man out. I don’t love it. Not even a little.

Great artwork, but I rarely want the shirts I wear to express melancholy.

I like it… but haven’t decided if I like it enough to buy it.

I think I’d like to see how those gradient-esque paint smears are going to print.

Man…i think i’m going to buy it…i’ll sleep on it and go from there

Ridiculously cool in a strangely grotesque yet sexy way. Not many black shirts have brown in them nowadays, good combo.

“secret of nimh” anyone?

WTH? Are these shirts designed by Edgar Allen Poe himself?

Bah, black shirt. Interesting design, tho. I’ll pass on this.

congratulations aman a deserved print.

This actually isn’t terribly appealing to me, although well done and very interesting (also: great colors).

Guess I’m not into the owl thing… = /

Looks like a Moonkin

Never say never I guess. Never thought I would be into a bird shirt until now! Soon as I saw this I was into it, no hesitation. It’s not until I purchased it that I realized “I just bought a bird shirt from woot” What is happening to me??! “Does this mean I will buy a tree shirt next?!?!?” To that I replied “never say never”

For those curious about the title, I believe it’s an allusion to this poem by Emily Dickinson:

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Though I suppose it could be an allusion to the following quote by Woody Allen:

“How wrong Emily Dickinson was! Hope is not the ‘thing with feathers.’ The thing with feathers has turned out be my nephew. I must take him to a specialist in Zurich.”

Thank you, and class dismissed.

if this had been the real ‘wear this’ comment, I would have cried.
