I have one similar from this company, Works so so but cost the replace the cartridge and repellent is what makes this to expensive to use

I have the regular Thermacell unit. It is fantastic at keeping the mosquitoes away here in the Northeast.

I normally buy them in LARGE quantities as it seems cheaper. Buying them off ebay in the middle of winter also will snag a deal from time to time. I have a couple of the portable devices and one of these. As long as it’s not windy (if it is, put them down wind or on the ground near you), it does an ok job. The non-smelly disc’s work better IMO but even though they say mosquitoes don’t fly in windy weather or when it’s cool out side, I’ve seen those pesky little beasts when it’s 40 and 20mph winds. I think those are the ones visiting from Maine or Minnesota.

I have the 2 small handheld/backpack version and I buy the refills when Walmart puts them on clearance normal get them when it’s in the $1.50-$2 range but was able to snag about 35 of them for $0.75 each. I only use them for certain outdoor activities. But also used with body sprays.
I saw this on clearance too but opted not to get it since the refill was different but now thinking the lantern would have been a nice double duty feature.
I think you can just modify the refill to make them work.
I also have the square candle lanterns.

they only work if you get them! woot takes your order but then decides 2 weeks later they don’t have them and don’t bother to tell you until you send them a buncha emails. Work great when you have them.
