Maybe it’s just me being cynical, but Matchbox: The Movie seems like a really stupid idea. I mean, yes, sometimes movies based on games or toys are spectacularly successful. Like Barbie and… Well, Barbie. More often than not, though, they seem like abysmal failures. Like Battleship. Oftentimes Hollywood lays an egg.
Nevertheless, they keep trying.
Will Matchbox: The Movie gross $1B? I wouldn’t count on it. Sometimes it’s best not to count your chickens before they hatch.
