On a sixty day furlough (not the fun kind), and decided to take up 3d modeling in Blender. After a few Pluralsight classes I put my new found baby-boy skillz to use.
Taking @ThunderThighs 's avatar of this:
And making an approximation in Blender!
The best part - exporting the model as an .STL! Now folk can 3d print their own TT statuette.
I figure there’s some level of symmetry to print this off on my Ender3 Pro from the 2019 Black Friday sales here.
There maybe a bit of cleanup needed, and I’ll drop it on Thingiverse later.
Remember folks - even in this scary and dark times, Quokka believes in you!

This is the bestest thing I’ve ever seen. Now I really want a 3D printer.

Those lips? I’ve had collagen injections.

No problem. When this is all touched up and done you can print yourself off a few, spray paint them gold, and hand them out at the office (when reopened) like the Dundeys. Ha!

Yeaaaaaaaah there are a few things that, after I ran it through the 3d slicer Cura, that didn’t quite translate well. Plenty of time to round off those rough edges. ha!

I love it. I’ve wanted to 3d print a Monty and Morty for @ThunderThighs for quite a while but my modeling skills leans more towards functional than organic

After breaking a few things, trying to get into deeper waters than my swim certification allows, and some tweaking, here’s v2.
Thought about adding a Mortimer face in the back of the shirt, but that got weird. Did add some dope looking sleeves though.
Tree supports!
Brutal banding, but that’s on my printer needing a tune up, or maybe using smaller than a .2mm line width.
Printed at 35m mx 26.5mm x 61.9mm (x,y,z). The base is about the size of a golden dollar.

You’re killing me here. LOL

Well my dive into concept, to design, to print has been completed.
My 3d modeling is switching gears to small scale topographical maps, and before I archive this would you be opposed if I dumped out the 3d print file on Thingiverse for the masses to print? It’s your avatar and all so your call.
If you would prefer it not to be out there then that’s cool. No harm no foul.

Yeah, that’s fine. We can scare kiddies with my weird tiger super girl image.

Cool, and thanks!
Look at me contributing to the greater zeitgeist good of humanity with this important 3d model!
Hopefully the aliens in the future uncover it and are left to wonder.

I mean if you print off a bigger version to haphazardly glue it to a bottle opener then yes. If you mean in it’s current form, no.

Also, to be clear, when viewed with the naked eye of daylight this looks pretty damn smooth. It’s just under the harsh lens of a digital camera do the imperfections shine. They say the camera adds 10lbs on tv… well with a 3d model it adds a hundred maddening lines.

Thingiverse is being a pile of poop, as usual, so MyMinifactory it is!
Go print to your heart’s delight. (Post back any you do print!)
