I use a lot of these. 18 handicap. I would rather spend a buck putting these back in the water than $4 a new one costs.

I have never had a problem with the covers, refinish work or the actual ball.

I have a 6.2 handicap index. Last year, I was giving a guy at our club a hard time for using these balls (I saw the ugly yellow box in his bag). He challenged me to blind test.

He put 3 refinished ProV1 balls in a “new ball” sleeve and gave them to me along with a sleeve of new balls from the pro shop. I used the 6 balls for my round. I typically rotate 3 balls on the front nine and then switch to a new sleeve of 3 balls for the back nine.

I could NOT tell the difference! I shot 37-39 for an 18 hole round of 76. My partner later told me (it is still an item of friendly debate) that I used the recon balls on the front nine. My only poor shot resulting in a penalty stroke was on the back nine using the balls from the pro shop (I kid him it was the recon ball).

Every time these come up I buy a couple of dozen. Although, I do take them out of the ugly box and use the box/sleeves I saved from my last pro shop purchase! No one else at the club is the wiser.

what is the difference in the two models?

Pro V1 has more spin, Pro V1x more distance, according to this discussion.

These balls are certainly worth the price. I’m a 4 hdcp and I used them for years before going with TM Lethal. Every once in a while you get a clunker and you’ll notice it right away.

These balls cost $48+ new, and unless you are playing for money or club championships, these work fine.

I ordered 2 due to the comments here and the fact that these did not have any corporate logos.

I received my order today, however both of the boxes are the “Reload” variety and not the yellow box pictured. Also, just about every ball seems to have a corporate logo on them.

I can only assume these are not the correct balls, and as such due to my unfamiliarity with their performance I will be returning them.
