That will happen if there is not enough soil in the conatiner. You have to put enough dirt in so that water does not come out the center of the bottom.
I bought 6 planters when Woot made them available in May. They work very well but there are 2 essential things you need to provide:
Plenty of sunshine is very important, so make sure you give the planters an unobstructed southern exposure. Secondly, they need plenty of water! They must be watered SLOWLY at least once a day every day…twice a day when it’s very hot.
If you can give the plants these essentials, you will be rewarded with plenty of strawberries throughout the summer. If not, you will be very disappointed.
It requires QUALITY POTTING SOIL… I have berries on my everbearing plants almost every day
