I couldn’t make this thing work. The wi-fi adapter blocked the internet signal instead of passing it through. We had to disable it to get our wi-fi internet connections back. None of the promised benefits of wi-Ci access to the content of the hard drive were available after that. The hard drive itself offers a proprietary backup program, which I installed, but now we are plagued by constant, intrusive pop-up messages saying that updates are available and should be downloaded. Downloading didn’t make them go away.
You see, there’s your problem: using the terrible software that comes with external hard drives. It’s not that hard to copy and paste backups manually.
