Pretty slick deal. The woot listing says memory not user upgradable, but I’ve worked on plenty of these laptops, crucial says it is upgradable. Maximum memory: 16384MB
Slots:2 YMMV
Please note there is a difference between “factory” refurbished and just refurbished.
My HP Chromebook was “factory” and is fine. My two Samsung Chromebooks were just “refurbished” and while both work, one had serious cosmetic damage on the lid. I doubt if Samsung would have let it go out that way, but the no-name refurbisher did.
My Asus tablet was a factory refurb and had a problem within the warranty…Asus fixed it.
Non-factory refurbs can be ones bought in mass quantities from companies that are upgrading or downsizing or bankrupt or whatever.
Square Trade might be a good idea for non-factory refurbs that are high-ticket items. My 2 cents.
