I shy away from these single battery versions, let alone a single AAA battery. That’s not much storage and the batteries don’t last as long as kits with larger/multiple batteries. If you are less subject to cold temperatures than us northerners, they might be okay for you.
When fully charged the LED’s stay lit for 6-8 hours.
What’s the battery for? I thought the LEDs were solar powered, not battery powered…

Correct. The solar charges the battery. Most outdoor solar lighting uses conventional AA or AAA rechargeable batteries these days. Easier to replace in the future. If you go to Home Depot or Lowes, you’ll see replacement batteries in the outdoor lighting aisle.
The connections usually rust out before I need to replace the rechargeable batteries.
