Thanks
Thanks for the awesome explanation. How can I give you some rep for that?
I also found this explanation on the difference between Syrah and Patite Sirah. Link here.

I am a 1 year noobie wino so any info is helpful. The forum is the coolest part of W.W.
Happy Soon-to-be Birthday!
85 Year Old Vines. They are all on original rootstock.
Check out my blog, PSychospath.com, if you want to know more about PS, the best grape out there.
Basically, PS is the “bastard son” of the noble grape Syrah, who had a dalliance with Pelourisin, an obscure “peasant lass” of a Rhone mountain grape, all arranged by Dr. Francois Durif.
Dr. Durif originally bred PS to be resistant to downy mildew like its mother. However, PS is so tightly bunched (though people like John Monnich at Silkwood are using KELPAK, a seaweed extract, to help the bunches open up) that it is typically prone to bunch rot. While this is rarely an issue in California’s climate, the Rhone’s much more humid climate made it hostile to PS (much like capitalism, classical liberalism, and rational thought)
PS is fuller and rounder than Syrah, and its Peloursin mountain grape parentage gives it a nice brightness/verve/energy (which sometimes appears as blueberry or pink grapefruit) that its indolent noble father almost always lacks.
Hi Jen! Welcome back!
Will we see you at Dark & Delicious 2011? We missed you the previous two years.
Mod edit: Link fixed.
Happy St. Patty’s Day!! The winemaker and I will be around if you have any questions about Trinitas or our Old VIne Petite Sirah! Thanks for having us on again…
Can you resend the link? I wanted to look at Dark and Delicious…
Any clue how this wine compares to the Runquist “R” Petite Sirah? That’s my favorite…
I’ve already purchased, I just want to know what to expect!

It was awesome. Some of your neighbors were there, including Heringer, Michael-David, Mettler, and Bogle.
That’s one of the few I haven’t had… but I’ve heard very good things about the Runquist ($25-30 on the west coat, $33-40 in the south/upper midwest). It doesn’t appear to have any distribution north of NC or much outside of Cali.
However, if you want to send me a bottle, I’ll be happy to compare for you

This is a STEAL DEAL for one our best selling wines…
YUMMY
Thanks for the Rush reference at the beginning of the write up. Now I have Tom Sawyer stuck in my head, which isn’t that bad!
In for one based on all the positive comments. Now I just need to figure out where I’m going to store all the wine I’ve ordered from w.w.
(much like capitalism, classical liberalism, and rational thought)
Hilarious.
What I was wondering was how good is this deal?Doesn’t matter,I’m in anyway.Loved their zin,had a 2004 PS a few months ago and it was great.Paid alot more than $15 for it,too
Any thoughts on picking up this vs. the Barbera three pack that’s currently available on the Monday deal?
This is a delicious wine and good value at this price.
I live in the Sacramento (CA) area, and this wine is available at Nugget Markets. Their price is $15.99, making it comparable to the Woot deal. I would not hesitate to buy it at this price, and do all the time.
We recommend both. =P
