I bought 2 of these when they were 2 for $14.99, one for myself and one for a cow-orker. They do a good job of mixing a pre-workout drink, and the battery has held up for once-daily use for the last 2 months just fine.
Not sure how it would do with a protein shake… Maybe if it’s one that’s not too thick, and you add the powder slowly while the vortex is going (as you’re supposed t0). Would be great for a glass of kool-aid or airborne or something.
We’re both happy with ours FWIW.
It looks like cleaning would be a bear, particularly if you let the stuff dry inside it.
Wouldn’t a spoon and fingers accomplish similar mixing at a lower cost and easier cleaning?
I am looking ahead in the very near future now that FDA has approved powdered alcohol is available this fall these are going to be awesome Cheers
I’ve tried them and these are junk. Protein shakes will end up clumpy and a normal shaker bottle will do an as good if not better job. Just watch the video and look closely at all the clumpy crap floating in the glass. Do not buy.
You’d think for the MSRP of $50, we could buy this with confidence. I’m not especially interested in this item, but I might go for it if I knew it could reliably mix that kind of thing. I can’t find any thorough reviews online… anybody find good reviews for this thing?
I have a couple of these and I think they’re worth the $6-$7 I paid for them.
I use it twice per day. I put in 10oz of cold water and turn the mixer on. I normally put in 2 scoops of protein powder directly into the vortex but some of the protein I have is too thick and 2 scoops is too much. But it does a decent job. I drink it, then rinse it. Every protein shaker and mixer is a pain in the ass once it dries or gets funky, and this one is no different. DONT LET IT SIT. a quick rinse afterwards works well.
The batteries do not last very long if you use it to mix protein shakes. I’m on my second set in less than a month. There are more powerful models or you can invest in a ninja or magic billet, but for $6 it’s not bad at all
