I;m in for 2, one for me and one for my secret family that my real family doesn’t know about.
I call B.S. okay no I don’t… they work really well for the brief time that they do work, butw when it starts to go out, there’s no going back.
He he! I got these for my in-laws, and my mother-in-law’s cheek would randomly hit the talk button which acts as flash during a call. She didn’t really understand the function of flash, and would swear at the phone every time this happened.
On the other hand, at least there aren’t seperate on or off buttons. I hate that in a handset.
Clarity of the unit was good, and the room monitor function was excellent to use as a baby monitor, or whatever.
Does anyone know if two sets (4 phones) can be used with the same line?
Hmmmm I’m looking for woot to offer ma a phone too… but I need a business phone… corded main unit for privacy.
actually… sensitive conversations (ones you do not want other people to over hear, at least not easily) should always be done through use of land lines.
Secondly, the 911 emergency response system is about 20 minutes more accurate (on a national average) when an emergency call is made using a land line instead of a cell phone.
Third, they look tasty, so buy them
Thinking of pulling the trigger but the Refurb thing is making me hesitate.
Anybody have experience with refurbished models of these phones?
We have had these phones for 4 years and they are great. Buy them. You will be happy
There’s a privacy mode on these phones so that someone can’t listen in on a call from the base unit or another handset.
I don’t think that would prevent someone from plugging in a corded phone, though…
I have 2 Unidens of exactly this model, bought from Woot in 2005, set up as a network. No interference with WiFi. They seem to have improved it since 2005 - larger phonebook. I can copy the phonebook from one unit to another and sync phonebooks that way.
The Uniden phones have worked well for me since 2005 and they are durable - but their batteries now have declining ability to hold a charge. This woot is cheaper than getting new batteries.
I do wonder how much radiation these cordless phones give off, since they are near your head all the time.
exactly
I have had several of these phones for about two years: work great, no significant gripes, though the battery life is just starting to get to the point where I am considering replacing them - they now go dead after less than two days off of the cradle vs. maybe 5-6 days when new.
So, If I buy 2 or 3 sets of these phones… Can I use all 4 (or 6) as part of the expandability or do I have to purchase the remote units without the answering machine/base?
I’ve had this same system for over 2 years and have had no problems with them. Range is good, answering machine portion works fine, and no problems with any interference from the wireless network in my home. Great price for this – makes it very easy to have extra phones without jacks, etc.
Does anyone know if the handsets support 2-line operation? I know the base does not, but I’d actually buy this just to get replacement handsets for my existing Uniden 2-line system.
In my 2-line Uniden cordless system, my handsets look EXACTLY like the ones in the picture. I’m wondering if the handsets are 2-line capable, but they are crippled with the base unit.
Is there a model number just for the handset so I can look this up?
ahh. Poop… I have the phone but with only one handset. I just forked out $10.00 to buy a replacement battery for my handset. I could have bought this phone and 2 handsets for $10.00 more.
Its a great phone. It can take a beating. I have dropped my handset several times. Even left the handset on top of my car and drove off with it. Found the phone in a ditch a few weeks later, put it back on the charger and it still works.
It has some interesting features. A bunch of ring tones that you can customize for each caller. You can tell who is calling you by the ring tone you set.
The only thing that I don’t like about the phone is the clock doesn’t set with the caller ID. You have to manually set the clock. Otherwise its a great phone.
The handset doesn’t have any button that would allow you to select the line. How do you do this with your current handsets?
I have had this model for 4 years…the best phone i ever owned …good sound and the speaker system is on of the best …and as for your question …no interference with wire less
I would have bought these if my family didn’t decide to just use cell phones.
No interfearence with wireless that I can tell… these are 5.8 GHZ… Wireless is 2.4 GHZ.
