Not bad. One of the best HIGH END bang for your buck for a bear snooper. I’ve had Escrot’s 9500ix’s for around 11 years. On long trips, and in the city, they have paid form themselves many times over. Yeah, drive the speed limit, don’t need one, but they are more then for people with a heavy foot and if ANYONE says what I just said (about slowing down) and said person says they never speed. Your a liar. Everyone exceeds the speedlimit one time or another, rather on purpose or accident.
With that said, I have the R3. Got it a few months ago. Just used it on a long 1700 mile round trip travels. Was outstanding. Long rang, hardly any false alerts. Most surprising was how it picked up LASER way way before my Escort ever did but if you get painted with laser, unless you run a jammer, your toast. $399 is well worth the price if you MUST have arrows. But the R3 will do the same thing, just over $100 cheaper. I’m looking to replace the 2nd 9500 with the R7. But hard to justify paying the extra bucks for arrows. The latest updates from uniden, the R7 is supposed to have just a LITTLE bit more sensitivity. But, due to it’s rear facing antenna, has a better rear end protection.
So, I’m in for one. The R3 I got NEW was not that much more then the one WOOT is selling, but the R7 is about $200 less.
