It will only pair with one device at a time, hence the term “pairing”.
The term “pairing” just means they are connected, your phone can be paired to many other bluetooth devices. Some bluetooth devices can pair to multiple phones (my old home phone could pair to two cell phones, this Logitech audio adapter can pair to two phones http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/50053/~/use-the-bluetooth-speaker-adapter-with-multiple-devices ). If this speaker could pair to two phones, I’d get it.

Exactly. That’s like saying a modern vehicle Bluetooth can’t pair to more than one phone. I have a generic Bluetooth speaker that is paired to two phones.

If you’re looking for a great all around H2O resistant BT speaker…at 1/2 the price…these little things do a surprisingly outstanding job.
Can multiples be paired to a single source (phone, mp3, etc) to achieve a stereo effect?

I found this on the Boom manufacture website:
Unfortunately, you cannot connect more than one at this time. We are currently working on improvements so please keep checking back on our website. http://www.boommovement.com/support

Does this wireless speaker support NFC? If not can anyone recommend a water resistant speaker that does connect using NFC?
