Quick question (I was able to pick up the USPS US Flag 2018 Forever Stamps - Book of 60):

Can stamps be taxed? Not looking for an argument or refund (ha!), just knowledge. Thanks!

If you buy them from a reseller, depending on your state laws, I believe they can be. Directly from the US Post Office I don’t think they are taxed.

Also, since stamps are legal tender…woot should be forced to accept payment in the form of stamps, right?

Thanks. Knowledge is king. Deals on Woot are the filling in my donut life!

Was not! thppt

“STATUS: (1) US postage stamps purchased from the US Postal Service are not subject to sales tax . However, when a retailer recoups its cost of US postage stamps from a customer, that amount is part of the “sales or selling price” and is subject to sales tax .“

I was also wondering. Even though it’s only a few $ per book savings I’m happy to save something. I’ll put one book away in the safe for “collecting” and use the other
