Yep! Same here. Ordered both the 3.5mm and the USB-C models. The 3.5mm were good, the USC-C earpods came in a tangled mess, knotted together, and smelled of perfume or cologne. Send those back for a refund. Too bad. I’ll be careful in the future when ordering Woot “value-packs”.
FWIW, I’ve bought “value packs” before and they came in like-new or “like-NOS-from-random-warehouse” condition. It really depends upon the supplier, which is behind the curtain (until it shows up and you read the shipping label). I’ve had very good luck with Tech Rabbit (or whatever they’re called) for instance.
I bought some Apple 2M USB-C cables “value pack” which were not “clean” or “store bought” new, but were clearly never used. I presumed they had been in a warehouse or stock storage somewhere, then liquidated by Apple. So I simply wiped with a clean rag with warm water with a dash of soap on it, dried off, and ready for use.
This is the charm and the surprise factor of Woot IMHO. For small cost items, I advise to never spend more on something than you’re comfortable spending on a disappointment. Not everyone’s game, not everyone’s budget. Of course, Woot CS superstars are on call (weekday business hours) for price corrections, returns, refunds, etc.

I just got these today and had a similar experience to @heavensreign. My EarPods were supposed to be USB-C, but I received Lightning port instead. Furthermore, they were already unraveled from the cardboard holders and all tanged up. They do seem used. And it’s weird they didn’t even send the correct version.
I also got the 3.5mm versions and those look great and were all in hard plastic cases. And to @ThunderThighs, I already contacted support - just waiting to hear back.
Second the opinions here. Mine were obviously not brand new. Had a similar experience with another Apple new open box product, but customer service was great and did make it right.
Bought 3 of the 3.5mm ones about 2 months ago from woot! All arrived in sealed apple packaging.
They where forsure brand new, but to my memory the okes back in the day sounded better then these. Maybe audio quality was lost over the years of sittin on the toilet? Going to keep using my sennheisers though for incredibly good sound quality. These are great for zoom calls though! All phones should have a 3.5mm jack still in my opinion. And removable sd cards and batttery packs but thats a different rant
Apple sells Lightning-to-3.5mm adapters, I think they were $10 when I bought two. Still use them (I have an iPhone 14 Plus from work and a 13 Mini of my own). I bought a USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter for about as much here on Woot, for future proofing.
I agree, 3.5mm ports were great on phones back in the day, but I’ll take today’s IP (intrusion protection) ratings instead. Bluetooth Uber Alles.
In 2023, I got a 3 pack of the 3.5mms and they were unused new in the original small Apple square plastic box.
The boxes themselves had some very light surface scotches, like they were all tossed into a giant box and moved around.
I ordered another 3 x 3.5mm. Hoping to get the same experience this time around…

Apple’s USB-C to 3.5mm adapter isn’t much money, and you already have the earbuds.
I use Apple’s adapters to plug my phones into my car for music.

I received the USB-C ones today and they were not in any packaging. I’m not sure if I want to put these in my ears, but I’m probably going to stop ordering anything from Woot…
I took a closer look at these and they have obviously been used before. They come shipped with someone else’s ear wax:
