What about smaller women’s sizes?
Thanks! I picked up another color from the other site!
my feet are exactly 11 inches… I’m thinking I should measure a quarter inch up to leave some wiggle room for socks?
I bought a pair of the previous model the last time they were on Woot, and I love them. I had a little trouble getting my toes to go into the right places at first, but once I got them on, they were very comfortable. I usually go barefoot around the house, and used to dance a lot so I’m already used to walking the way you end up walking in these. With regular shoes, I always feel like I’m fighting my shoes to be able to walk in a way that feels natural to me. I don’t get that with these.
My measurements came out pretty close to my usual size, so that’s what I bought. I tried them with the kind of socks that have a separate space for each toe. They were a little tighter than without socks, but still fit me comfortably.
I hear wearing socks helps people who get sweaty feet… Would getting a size bigger to compensate for socks be advisable?
I have a pair of TrekSports and a pair of the Sprints. The former are great for day-to-day and the latter are my fave in the gym (very open design - far more like being barefoot than these models with a full top).
In for a pair of these just because they are an awesome deal. I don’t really care for the “peacock colors” - but people will notice them regardless. I get asked about mine all the time.
I do suggest measuring your foot and looking at the Vibram guide. My feet feel best in sz 12 shoes, but I wear a sz 11 equivalent in Vibrams.
I have not experienced any “funk” issues in either of my pairs even with getting pretty sweaty in the gym - but then I’m lucky in that my feet don’t stank in general. YMMV.
This is a tough call. I have a pair of the Injinji toe socks (crazy expensive) and they are paper thin. So if your Vibrams have a tiny bit of room you’re ok. But if your brand is thicker, or your Vibrams are already skin tight, you may not like the fit.
Personally - I’d think the socks would exacerbate sweat issues. It is, after all, another layer. As I stated above, I wear my Sprints to the gym - and I sweat like a rented mule. The socks just get soaked and then so do the shoes.
Do they make these for polydacts?
I have the opposite problem. I have to go up to the men’s sizes and I am between sizes. With the skel-toes I went up and after a couple of hours my feet shrink and they are too loose so this time I am going down.
I wear the skele-toes on weekends building up to wearing them for walking. I just want to add the if you have arthitis in your toes, the dkele-yoes are great. I hear better things about these.
as long as no one steps on your feet with their spiked shoes.
My foot is, well, a foot long. They’re sold out of the 47’s of course, but I’m afraid that with feet these big, they’d just really, really look like clown shoes.
I own 3 pairs of Vibrams, KSOs, Classics, and the Bikila LS.
The Bikila LS is similar to the woot offer here, but different lace system that I personally found more comfortable. I love them, super comfy, great to walk or run in.
Washing method I use: When they start to smell a little meh, soak in a small tub of water with Oxyclean, put it in and on the shoe, then scrub the inside (including down the toe holes) with an old toothbrush. Rinse repeatedly, making sure all Oxy is washed out. Set to dry in front of a fan over night.
How often you must do this depends on use, but you can go a surprisingly long period of time, several weeks or months.
Normally I suggest people try these on in person before buying them, especially if you’re fairly picky about your shoes already… I went through all the styles they offered at a local store, over a dozen, only a few felt comfortable for me… BUT, at this price? holy cow, grab a pair! You can easily cragislist them for a little over the price paid here to make your money back, just say “tried on once, wrong size for me”
You aren’t getting them for looks, you’re getting them for comfort. Even if you don’t make the move to wearing them every day, at least use them for workout time, your body will thank you (and it will hook you on how great they feel over normal shoes, and you’ll wear them all the time… all part of the evil plan!)
I’m a runner and while I run in fairly minimalist shoes, I don’t run in the Vibrams. Ditto on building up to activity in them because just about everyone is used to a fair amount of build-up in shoe heels.
I always thought Vibrams were goofy looking but was at a race expo and there was a special on them. I bought them and walked around all weekend wearing them with no problems. I now own 4 pairs…uh make that 5 now
They are excellent for working on posture/balance/form because you feel the ground much more than you would with “normal” shoes. I don’t think they solve every single biomechanical problem there is but they are a fantastic help if you’re working on it.
They would work for yoga. I don’t know about this model but as a rule, yeah. It’s barefoot but grippier. They are great for foot flexibility.
Re the color, I do have a black “girl” looking model and they are more subtle. For the most part though, you’re wearing toe shoes. It’s not like color is going to make a difference. At the very least at this price it’s a good intro to see if they work for you.
(FWIW for runners, I’d say these are good for running in grass or for drills. I tend to debate the whole “barefoot running” phenom and the human body, esp the US model that tends not to be as light as it could be, isn’t used to it. Even those who run barefoot tend to switch to shoes as their bodies age. These shoes are fantastic for what they are and they DO work for running for some, not for most I’d say.)
Anybody else unable to get any photos to load? I had the same issue last time around… which colors are they?
I love mine. I have them for about 18 months and only use them indoors on the tread mill so they still have plenty of tread life.
My left pinky toe doesn’t fit easilly so it takes a little work to get the shoes on but its worth the price and comfort.
Just a warning, there’s a HUGE market for fake vff shoes on the internet. I did some digging and it looks like 6pm.com is a legit seller.
Here’s a list of known fake sellers:

I have a cheap yoga mat and Five Fingers has torn it up with ease. Stick with truly barefoot for yoga.
