I’m not sure why the White Star ship is going the opposite direction.
But couldn’t the white star go any direction?
Anything can travel in any orientation, but it definitely generates thrust in a single direction. Enterprise can “reverse engines” but most of those others (TARDIS excluded) at least slightly obey physics and just reverse course. It’s just lazy design on an otherwise fun product.
