Vinturi Wine Aerator

Blind Tasting: Vinturi vs. Soirée

$28.54 at Amazon, the mother company, so not a great deal. I would get it in 2 days since I am a Prime Member instead of 2-6 weeks with woot SNAIL MAIL. Plus, several complaints that some of the units have cracks or chips. With Amazon easy returns, I would pay the extra $2 and buy it at amazon for the peace of mind and speedy shipping.

I bought three of these last woot-off. One red and white for my brother, and one red for myself. These things ROCK. In for three more; one white for me and two reds for gifts. Woot!

I’m in for two for gifts. I got one last woot off and it does have a pretty hefty scratch on the front, but I figured I could live with that. It’s still fun to listen to! And the wine tastes good too!

I received one for a Christmas gift last year and notice a signficant difference using this rather than pouring straight from the bottle. In for one for a gift for my boss!

Can you explain how the aeration process differs for white and red wines?

UGH - I missed the Ursa!! Now I’m depressed.

Un-bearable?

We have one of each and all you have to do is taste some wine before and after aerating and you’ll be sold.

If you pour red wine through the white aerator, it will stain the aerator. Also, red wine version comes with a strainer, because red wines may have sediment.

Otherwise, I believe those who have both have said they are identical.

from product website: White wine needs to breathe, too! It’s a longstanding myth that white wine does not need aeration. The truth is that white wine displays the same improvements with aeration as red wine. Vinturi for White Wine has different internal dimensions and flow rates. The result is perfect aeration specifically for white wine.

good one. do you also see the bear hidden in the mountain on the label ?

Wine cans come in handy when moving around vigorously or during an intervention!

Would it help to shake the bottle vigorously? Or pass the wine through one of the Breville blenders that shows up so often?

And wine can chicken is to die for.

I do now! Excellent!

I’ve already missed out on the red wine aerator. Wicked bummer.

LOL I’ve wondered that myself.
Decanting used to be about removing dregs and a little aeration. Always careful and smooth. We tend to treat wine smoothly, not shake it up… now whether that’s just old practice it because shaking it ‘shocks’ it into bad or muted flavours I’m not sure…

There’s a scratchy looking groove that extends out from one or more of the aeration holes that is normal. Could that be what you’re seeing?
