Very good reviews (4.5 out of 5.0) over at Target.com and check out the product page

Looks good, but sadly no HDMI inputs / outputs. HDMI in/out would be very useful for me and my setup.

Wish they’d had this deal when I bought mine, I paid $65 for a returned unit. There aren’t many bars on the market this small. With the limitations due to its size, the sound isn’t mind-blowing but is a worthwhile improvement over the built-in speakers in the TV.

There’s no HDMI input because the TV decodes the HDMI audio and passes it on to the sound bar, either via analog or digital optical.

Okay, so how does this compare to the Philips soundbars that pop up on the Woot sites from time to time?

Yeah, these must B older stock not to have ANY HDMIs. All systems now have at least 1 hdmi, & most have 3 or 4 to allow all your components their own input. Maybe Bluetooth makes up for it.

It’s right at the price point of…,“Hmmm, Square Trade warranty or not?”

The link to the Vizio page brings me right back here!

Found the 38" version, refurb at Amazon, prime eligible, for $77.03. Square trade 3 year warranty for $7.73 more. Still no HDMI, FWIW.

Which link? I’m not seeing any with that problem.

Why would having HDMI be beneficial for a sound bar? Can’t you use your device’s optical output?

HDMI makes set up much easier. HDMI also processes ARC or Audio Return channel which sends audio to the soundbar or other component via the one cable. Here is a good CNET summary on ARC. I agree with others this is either old tech or the HDMI reflects the lower price point.

Odd, I don’t see how this is any different than running everything to your TV and then using the TV’s TOS output into the sound bar.

Anyone happen to know the DC voltage value that the AC converter provides to the sound bar?
I would like to use this in an RV but with the +13.5 vdc from the vehicle.

I have a boston acoustic sound bar I set up just this way using the optical out of the TV into the sound bar. Works and sounds great… thinking maybe need another one for a future TV setup in another room…humm

How do you work the volume on this thing? Will the TV remote and/or Uverse remote work? TIA.

Bought a different model Vizio sound bar at member warehouse. It’s okay but turns off with the TV and requires the Vizio remote to do everything (including power back on). I live with it.

The auto-off on this thing is the most annoying thing ever. You can’t disable it, either.
