They’re also out of stock (at least in my area).

Coincidentally enough, I JUST bought this same model at Wal-mart last week (open box price which was slightly cheaper than this).

Picture is very nice, I calibrated it using some instructions found on Lifehacker.
Sound is good too (not quiet like some sets are).

Previously I had a 32" that was quite a few years old (after my 40" samsung started having issues).

I’m quite happy with the upgrade to 48", for the price it’s a good deal. Unless you’re a video snob I think you’ll be happy, especially if you’re upgrading from a smaller size set.

Agreed on all counts. I got this for $400 off woot last July. I had been on a 32" Samsung before this (also bought off woot) and the upgrade in screen real estate is definitely worth the price paid in video quality in my personal exprience/opinion.

seems a decent deal. Amazon has a new 48in Samsung on sale lately for $349. its gotten great reviews and i just ordered one this morning. may have gone for this if not. the Samsung is 720p but i don’t sit too close to my TV anyway so it won’t make a difference. it has a USB feature to watch video files from. main reason i bought it, and the reported good sound. but heck, maybe i’ll get this one, too? put it in a bedroom, or something…

If it had 1 additional HDMI port, I’d buy it.

Mine arrived in less than a week but was damaged when it got here - there was a puncture in the cardboard box and when I opened it whatever had damaged the box also made it’s way to the screen. It left a big, discolored dent in the middle of the viewing area
