Does this use the glasses from your local movie theater or do I need special ones?

Don’t buy!! It will be be packaged by a drunken monkey, show up broken, and you will be disappointed.

I’m done with Woot, two TVs ordered, two broken TVs received with garbage packaging on both. Save yourself the trouble…

MOD EDIT: Slightly different model.

So, if I order one and it shows up broken, will I be able to return/exchange it?

Have to ask, as I’ve read too many reviews on the mothership where buyers were stuck with busted TVs…

[MOD: Of course, we’ll take care of you. support@woot.com]

I found a couple reviews for the M551D-A2R. I’m not sure if the “R” in theirs is still the same model but they seem the same. anyway, everyone seems to think at the $1000 price this is a great TV, so at this price it should be worth getting too.

ALSO! if you do buy this, lcdtvbuyingguide.com already did a great job with calibration, this should help keep the headaches down and the entertainment at peak levels!

Stand with Hardware Screws
Remote Control
Power Cord
(4) Pairs of 3D Glasses

that same inebriated primate packed my last electronic from woot… It was dead on arrival and then Woot gave me a headache attempting to return it… Said the “30 day” return policy starts when the item is ordered ? Not when it was received ? ( Was an early ordered Christmas gift, did not know it was dead on arrival until 3 weeks after I received it)…

This seems like a very good deal. I got a similar, non 3D version, M552i-B2 on Black Friday from Amamzon for $634 new, and it retailed for $800. $520 for this set seems like a great price to me.

I’m loving my set, BTW and very happy with the picture/performance/apps.

Is there also a warranty through Vizio or only Woot?

The 3D aside, what are the differences between the two?

I agree. I ordered this very same TV over a month ago and it arrived with a broken screen. When I tried to find another, there were none. For all I know this is the TV I returned with a new screen. The packaging was terrible and the screen had no protection. Additionally there were no manuals or any instructions. Woot did credit my account as did Squaredeal (I purchased a warranty) promptly. The return was a non-issue for me, just a pain getting it to the local Fedex shop.

I purchased this set from Woot when it was last offered at $599. It arrived in perfect condition, well packaged and ready to set up. I have 2 other Vizeo TV’s and they, too, work beautifully. This is a great set and the 3d is wonderful as is the regular picture. My only regret is that the new sale price is $80 less than I paid. Still, I am eminently satisfied with the purchase. If I had need of another one, I’d buy it at this price in a heartbeat.

I have this exact TV, bought it new last summer. It has an amazing picture. I watch 3D movies from Comcast on-demand and they look amazing. Been very happy with the purchase. You will absolutely need a speaker system/sound bar. Don’t even try using the tv sound.

BUYING GUIDE

Check out the Woot Buying Guide for HDTVs and tell us what you think!

90-day Woot warranty. You can purchase a 1-yr protection plan through SquareTrade. Look for the box on the Features tab. FYI: it’s not visible on some mobile devices.

I have the 60" version of this that I paid probably $1200 for new. Been a surprise free year of ownership - the only niggle I can complain about would be the remote sensitivity. You basically have to point it DIRECTLY at the bottom left corner of the set for it to work. This is true of the remote w/ the set and my universal remote. I read many people bought various extenders / those UFO thingies to negate this, however I’ve learned to live with it. REAAAALLLY tempted to buy for my bedroom, but don’t have the cashola… :frowning:
