If this doesn’t qualify as a Quality Post, I don’t want to live.
Mine just went out last week, too. Bought it from here last May and it’s already dead. What a waste of $800.
It seems Vizios have issues but I’m sure with the recertified they fix everything. The new one I purchased from the mother ship I made sure to add a Square trade warranty. Still working great after a year. And my aunt has a 26" that has been great for 3 years. It’s a good brand.

Hey, don’t deprecate those of us who are old-school! (BTW, I think you meant “depreciate” re: component connections.) For those of us who are still cobbling together our legacy components and don’t own a contemporary receiver, may I suggest a component switch from the likes of Monoprice? When my Tivo’s HDMI ports suddenly stopped shaking hands with the HDMI on my TV, I resolved it by picking up one of Monoprice’s 4-port adapters. I have my Tivo, DVD, and Wii all routed through it, and all to the tune of about $20 plus the cost of a few component cables (Monoprice sells one for the Wii, btw.) There’s no loss in resolution that I can discern (given that my DVD player is old and pre-dates blu-ray). And it’s a lot cheaper than a new receiver.
I have purchased two Vizio flat screen TVs within the past few years. Bought both of them at Costco. One broke within a few weeks of install and the other was DOA out of the box. Fortunately, was able to return both to Costco because of their no questions asked return policy. I consider Vizio junk and recommend nobody buy these.
There is no place for 60Hz in this day & age. Boo
I have a 47 inch Vizio in my living room that has been rock solid for the last 6 years. I just picked up a 40 Vizio smart tv from Costco about three months ago (120hz) for $350 and it’s been great so no complaints from me.
Before getting the second Vizio I tried a Samsung and Toshiba and neither looked as good as the Vizio.
@scottw2, but I’d take good 60hz over crappily executed “120Hz”. There is a lot of really horrible, even worse than no interpolation at all stuff out there.
Too bad the still superior Plasma technology is gradually disappearing with Panasonic’s recent announcement.
Don’t think I would ever buy a VIZIO LED TV again. Bought one of the 19" LEDs a while back and it was awful for gaming on PS3. Also, this 24" only has one HDMI input?
