You get the idea.

I’ve always heard that these kind of video glasses cause all kinds of eye strain, made me somewhat reluctant to purchase them (especially considering I already have pretty terrible eyesight).

On another note, I do so love this story. I can’t wait for the next installment!

My dentist has these hooked to a DVD player. And they are an absolute must have for me now every time I go. They’re also great on the plane.

You have no idea how funny “Meet the Parents” is until you watched it while on nitrous.

I wear some serious plastic on my face and I can say it took some getting used to but once I got the focus dialed in and the nosepiece adjusted properly I didn’t notice a difference much at all.

For someone who isn’t as blind as me it may be possible to adjust the image so you don’t need to have your glasses on at all.

Woot.com just popped into my head (discount commerical playing on tv). I’ve always wanted one of these! Clicking buy now…

In for 1.

I just wanna watch cartoons while lying face-down in bed. Is that too much to ask?

Time to wake up…

Not bad.

Mod addition:

In Michigan it’s illegal to text while driving. I wonder if…

But I have a 70" TV…

Call me when you can just Beam Everything Directly Into My Brain! Scotty.

Dammit Jim, I’m a Doctor, Not a Techno-Geek!

Make it so…now excuse me while I go Number One!

^^X^^

Looks cool, especially as an inexpensive way to have good-quality 3D. If only it weren’t 428x240. Anybody interested in a 55" TV that’s 428x240?

And the “Why America is fat award” goes toooo

Meh. Check this review.

Not good either.

How exactly would you do 3D with these?

“Twin high-resolution 428 x 240 LCD widescreen displays.” … 428x240. This is obviously some new definition of “high-resolution” that I was not previously acquainted with.

Or a very old (circa 1981) definition.

Depends what you mean, I guess. IMO that’s not really a question that makes much sense here.

It’s 428x240 – it’s actually finer dot pitch than an iPhone 4 (somewhere around 1000 ppi, I guess) on the actual (presumably LCoS) display. But it’s optically focused at 9 feet, so it’ll be about 9 ppi, or 3mm dot pitch. It’ll also be across the room, unlike any mobile phone display in actual use.

Regarding resolution:

It’s using a composite video connection, so you get more-or-less 240 pixels of horizontal resolution anyway, and ~480i vertical (~240/field, depending on overscan settings); 428x240’s will show a single field completely, but you lose the extra vertical resolution on static content. With S-video, you can run arbitrsrily high luminance bandwidth, and 640x480 becomes essential; here, it’d look better, but doesn’t actually cost a whole lot of detail for watching TV/movies.

I paid the same price for these ones (with 640x480) over a year ago, so I’m pretty unimpressed with these. IMO they should be a lot cheaper than this, but like I said, they have half the resolution on static content, and since I use them with my N900 mostly, I’m not the slightest bit interested at any price.
