I just found a box of 2 USB woot-off lights. These were an item to be treasured even more than the monkeys whose arms are pulling off now.
Anyway they don’t spin! I know I had some early ones that rotated and you could hear the little motor physically turning the light. These have a switch but either off or on with no turning. Did the later batch not spin?. I thought the early ones did. But memories of 20 yrs ago might be sketchy.

Hello. All versions of them spun. I do recall some had issues but people found if they took them apart, there was a loose wire. this is a vague memory though.
We no longer have any in stock or I’d send you some.

Thanks for the sympathy. I was wondering if there was a hidden switch or something. But no, just off and on light only.
Is the 15-year warranty still valid?
I see the screws on the bottom so now I have a new project for tomorrow AM. Way better than the “real” life stuff I have to deal with.

Edit wait you are off the hook I started slapping it on the bottom like apparently doctors do for a new baby. One of them is spinning now!
But still would like a free T shirt for pain and suffering.
Other one not co-operating yet.
Those old Woot-offs were great though. Such fond memories…of little sleep.

Thank you that is a nice offer. I will resist but almost fell to temptation. I built up a lot of stuff in a house I will probably move out of next few years.
I hit the second light repeatedly with a wine bottle (What else?) and now it’s spinning too. (As we all would after too much wine)

P.s. I am watching my 2 lights spinning now after hitting one repeatedly with a wine bottle. Such a soothing sound. I think this version was smoother than the 1st gen. Except they get stuck if sitting on an office shelf for 10 years.
