Kudos to Woot for clearly indicating this uses D-cells. The advantage is you have continuous power as long as you have a supply of D-cells. (No downtime for charging.)
We just used a similar unit camping - it really took the edge off the heat to get a nice night of sleep. Now part of our standard car camping kit. But it is rechargeable lithium battery powered, which is handy if you have a portable power source to recharge it. And has a circulate\rotate mode.
Most of these fans also have a 1, 2, 3, 4 hour auto shutoff setting which is handy for preserving power.
We wouldn’t car camp in the summer without at least one of these fans.
[Edit: this Woot sale also includes a (more pricy) rechargeable lithium battery model with a slick second battery pack so one can be charging while the other is in use.]
