I realize this is not the same, but Staples is selling a WD Elements 2TB Portable External Hard Drive for $69.99, and it is not refurbished. Both 2TB, both USB 3.0, so I don’t see where this is a deal, but maybe I am missing something.

I found a comparison of the two. It looks like the passport is designed for cloud syncing. And has encryption.
