Time to learn all about the My Book line.

Unless I’m missing something, this 4TB MyBook at amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Book-USB-Hard-Drive-Backup/dp/B00E3RH61W is the same as offered here. A 5400rpm 4TB drive in a pretty package.

The woot offered today is $5 less than buying through amazon. Doesn’t seem like much of a deal.

$5 is more than enough to not get a factory reconditioned hard drive.

Though most of these returns were probably buyer remorse or bad enclosures… I’d hope.

I would definitely pay the extra $5 for non-refurbished.

This isn’t a deal when you take into account the new one on Amazon has a 2 year warranty, compared to the 6 month on this.

But 5,400RPM Sucks…no matter what

If I’m using a drive for nothing more than strictly data backup or redundancy I have no problems with a 5400 rpm drive. For a drive that is accessed once a day, overnight and isn’t used for data recall or media streaming I value reliability over speed.

It’s $15 more for the 4tb on Amazon and $30 more for the 3tb.

Hey all, because we want you to buy ALL the drives, we’ve lowered the price on the 4TB version.

Now, go buy 3.

It’s $114 for the 4TB on Amazon with Prime.

Call me when Woot has these 6-month refurbs for 75% off of that.
