NewEgg reviews not very excited about this model:

crap - not worth $10

Bought one back in November, noticeable upgrade from our Belkin N300 both in speed and range. Mine required a firmware upgrade out of the box, but that took about 5 mins. A few more tweaks for security settings and we were up and running. 5GHz seems to be a little weaker signal than the 2.4GHz in my house, that may be different for others.

Just be warned, WD has dropped out of the router business. So don’t expect much by way of support or firmware upgrades down the road. I have the model with gigabit, that I’ve had since 2011 or so, and it has been alright. It’s performance has drastically improved since putting openWRT on it.

Bought this from woot for $20 a year or so ago. It basically died after about 6 months. I would suggest going elsewhere unless you need a temporary or backup solution.

I bought this and dealt with it for about a year. I finally couldn’t stand having to powercycle the thing as often as it required. It’s still in a drawer somewhere, but will likely end up in the garbage pretty soon.

Thought I would give it a try. How bad could it be? Crashed shortly after take off. Rebooted six times over the weekend and found out that it’s out of warranty upon registration. Nice. The statement that this stuff is junk is correct.
