Walmart Reviews for the 1 TB

Comments from a previous sale

Based on the spotted pattern on the drive, this appears to be the previous version of the model (not current).
If so, they have a 4.5/5 on Amazon (11,000+ reviews).
I’ve had one of these for a long time; still works great, very reliable. Recommended.

Easy formatting for Windows or Mac.

Does it work with Google OS?

I have one that I use to store media to play on my Chromebook.

Ok, never used one of these. Are they glorified USB drives? Have an HP Stream that I would use it with. If you format it for one computer can you use it with another as well?

I use mine more as a means of backup, personally.

No, they’re USB drives, in no way are they glorified. They work well, but they are mechanical, so failure is always an option… or eventuality. The price is decent if you buy a pair is backup drives. Always store data in more than one spot – especially when risking with a refurb. Or pay a few bucks more and get a new one.

Years ago, certain Seagate drives had a very high failure rate due to poor packaging. These drives have been shipped four more times than the ones you buy retail – from customer back to WD, to refurbisher, to woot, then to you. Shipping is hard on drives.

Thanks for the info
