This appears to be a DS5100 model, not the quad-core DS6100 model.
Thanks for the heads up.
The DS5100 and DS6100 feature dual gigabit Ethernet ports and dual external DC-in power adapters. The DS5100 comes with single boot drive, though a second is optional, while the DS6100 comes with dual-drives standard. Both systems come with four 3.5" drive bays for data storage, the DS5100 supports 4TB and 8TB configurations while the DS6100 supports 8TB, 12TB and 16TB deployments.
Thought this was good to know too…
The 6100 comes w/2 power adapters. 6100 has 8gb ram vs 4. The 6100 is suppose to support HDD capacities above 8tb (each drive) but the specs page for WD doesn’t state this, this was from some storage review website. Would be nice if it did have that kind of scalability. But from WD’s specs, it’s hard to determin if it can handle ONLY 16tb TOTAL (4x 4tb) drives but again, it kinda makes you think it can hand 4x 2 thru 16tb drives.
So is it the 5100 or 6100? http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/AAG/ENG/4178-706074.pdf
Can Woot clear up the title? I am keen on the 6100 not the 5100
I’m 99% sure that it’s the DS6100 since the buyer corrected everything else to say that but I AM checking.
UPDATE: And I’m 100% incorrect. It’s the DS5100.
