Seeing the white interior, I jumped over to the mothership to read some reviews. Below is the link. Summing up the reviews, these pans aren’t for high heat applications or the pans warp. They aren’t meant for the dishwasher or cleaning with abrasive substances. Like all Teflon pans, use non-metal utensils. I mention this because one reviewer mentions his pan set included a sheet that said polytetrafluoroethylene was used as a coating for the pans.
Most agree if you heat the pan and wipe it with oil before using, you get better results.
Hey there wooters! Buyer is a good mood this hump day! She’s lowered the price on this set to $49.99. Now, while she plays hide-n-seek from her boss over this move, be a pal and go order a set or three. Okay?
PS: If you already ordered, that money will hop back in your pocket shortly.
Does anyone have this set? What type of bottom does the set have
My wife bought this off the Mothership after hearing that the ceramic coatings were superior to other non-stick coatings. We’ve been disappointed on the whole. Here are our observations:
- Pans are very lightweight (this could be good or bad…I’ll let you decide.
- Coating worked well, but rapidly lost it’s non-stick properties. We usually use silicone tools, but occasionaly a plastic or wood spoon might be used. We also put these in the dishwasher, but only run on a light cycle. They still work with oil or butter, but that does defeat the purpose of non-stick for the most part.
We still use these all the time, but only when the rest of our pans are dirty…
I’ve had this set in a different color for almost two years now. I’m usually a stainless steel type of person, but feel that everyone should have a mid grade nonstick set for practicality sake. This one is definitely a decent mid grade set. I haven’t had any issues with the nonstick properties going away, and will run it through the dishwasher on occasion when I feel lazy. Obviously don’t use and harsh scrubbies or utensils on them because they scratch just like any other nonstick. And I’ve never used them on crazy high heat to sear anything. That’s what the steel ones are for. Just use common sense and take care of your pans, and they’ll take care of you. I’ve had them for two years already and expect that they will last me a long time. These pans are good to boil pasta, make sauces, cook eggs, pancakes, fried rice, make tacos, pretty much any basic type of food. I really like my set.
The bottoms are aluminum.
