Reviews on the 13" Trimmer/Edger over at Amazon

This deal really blows.

I own the click’n’twist version of the weed eater trimmer. Except after two years it no longer clicks and twists between trimmer and edger. I end up just turning the whole device over to use it. Amazon reviews include various other issues I’ve had - inside the spool the line will melt and stick to itself. Do your lawn a favor and buy an actual edger. You’ll save time, and get lovely straight lines.

Note that most of the reviews on that page are for an older 14 inch model. Here’s one full of reviews on the new model.

I have never had a weed trimmer and definitely need one for my home. Can someone explain the difference between the 11" and 13"? I understand it is the cutting path but what does that actually mean?

I love to use my craftsman gas trimmer for trimming and edging. I just rotate the handle and I am good to go. I can edge very straight with a trimmer. Maybe due to my long history of cutting lawns since I was a wee lad. My dedicated edger seems to dig up more dirt to clean up. My craftsman trimmer uses spiraled .130 line, which is quite resilient.
